Cyrano has no rich backers footing the bills.

Yes, since its birth in 1982 Cyrano has never attracted a single rich backer to foot the bills and we doubt we'll ever will. And for good reason. Although there are cases of rich people supporting truly revolutionary projects, they are perforce the rare exception, and not the rule. Thus, unlike the well-funded "think-tanks" of the Right, we occupy no posh offices with secretaries and other nice accoutrements typical of the establishment's propaganda machine. Except for two technicians, we pay no one any salaries and just cover expenses, often with difficulty, chiefly out of our the editor pockets. And most of us also work full-time jobs.

Why are we so committed to fighting the disinformation disease that ravages the spirit and purpose of our democracy? The lies, hypocrisy and policies that have made America perhaps one of the most universally despised nations on earth? Because too many crimes have been committed and continue to be committed in our name thanks to the appalling degree of ignorance and confusion the mainstream corporate media has been able to inject in the public consciousness. And because we know that no real corrective, no strong remedy can be entertained until the manipulation of information in America comes to an end.

But you probably know all this, otherwise you wouldn't be here, reading these lines. So, please think what's at stake at this critical point in our history, and the history of the planet itself. Give as generously as you can.
